OUR SECURITY PROCEDURES

We restrict employee access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products and services to you.  County National Bank employees are trained to understand the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy. Employees who violate customer confidentiality and privacy will be subject to disciplinary measures.  As technology advances, County National Bank is continuously modifying its physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to ensure compliance with federal and state standards and to protect your nonpublic personal information. 

ONLINE PRIVACY

County National Bank is committed to protecting anyone that visits us at www.CountyNationalBank.com.   Information that is transmitted while accessing account information over the Internet or submitting an online application is encrypted using Secured Socket Layer (SSL) technology.  County National Bank’s internal computer systems are protected from unauthorized access using leading firewall and network security technology.

We may place “cookies” on a computer to track a visitor's use of our website. A cookie is a piece of data that is stored on your hard drive. It takes up very little room on your system and helps us to customize our site and make its navigation easier for you. We sometimes use cookies to help estimate the number of visitors to our site and to determine which areas are the most popular. Unless you register with us for a service (such as online banking), the cookie does not provide us with any personal identifying information about you, such as your name or address.

INFORMATION WE DISCLOSE

Outside of County National Bank - We do not disclose nonpublic personal information about customers or former customers to any non-affiliated third parties, except as permitted by law.  Accordingly, we may share the information we collect, as described above under Information We Collect, for routine business reasons that include but are not limited to the following:

 §  We may share customer information with companies that work for us.  All non-affiliated companies that act on our behalf and receive customer information from us are contractually obligated to keep the information we provide to them confidential, and to use the customer information we share only to provide the services we ask them to perform.

§  Reporting to consumer reporting agencies.

§  Complying with federal, state, or local laws, rules and other applicable legal requirements (such as a subpoena, garnishment or court order).

§  We may share customer information with other financial institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements. 

Within County National Bank – In order to best serve our customer, it may be necessary for certain types of information to be accessible across County National Bank companies.  Having information available to the bank, the mortgage company, and other related companies enables us to provide you with quality assistance and convenience for a variety of products and services.  The type of information that may be shared includes, but is not limited to:

PROTECT YOUR ACCOUNTS AND PERSONAL INFORMATION

Identity theft is a serious crime.  It occurs when your personal information is stolen and used without your knowledge to commit fraud or other crimes.  Identity theft starts with the misuse of your personal identifying information such as your name and Social Security number, credit card numbers, or other financial account information. For identity thieves, this information is as good as gold. CUSTOMER IDENTIFICATION PROGRAM

Federal law requires us to obtain sufficient information to verify your identity. You may be asked several questions and to provide one or more forms of identification to fulfill this requirement.  In some instances we may use outside sources to confirm the information.  The information you provide is protected by our privacy policy and federal law.   

When you open an account, you will be asked for your name, address, Social Security number, date of birth (if applicable), and other information that will allow County National Bank to identify you.  You will also be asked to furnish your driver’s license or other identifying documents.  We are required to follow this procedure each time an account is opened, even if you are a current customer of County National Bank.    

YOUR PRIVACY OPTIONS

You have choices as to how we contact you for marketing purposes as well as how we use your credit and personal financial information among County National Bank companies. If you are comfortable with the methods in which we use your information currently, there is no need to indicate your preference. 

Federal law gives you the right to limit some but not all marketing from County National Bank companies.   Federal law also requires us to give you this notice to tell you about your choice to limit marketing from County National Bank companies. 

 §  You may limit County National Bank companies, such as the affiliates listed at the end of this document, from sharing and using your information to market their products or services to you based on your personal information that they receive from other County National Bank companies.  This information may include but is not limited to:

o    Information provided by you on your application to be used to determine your eligibility, such as your income;

o    Information from consumer credit reports, such as your credit history;

o    Information from sources used to verify information you provide us, such as outstanding loans or employment history; and

o    Any other information provided by you or at your direction.

§  You may also tell us not to share your credit and personal financial information with other County National Bank companies.  We will not disclose information about you or your accounts outside our group of companies without your authorization other than as required or permitted by law. 

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR PRIVACY OPTIONS

§  Write to us at County National Bank, Customer Service, Post Office Box 283, Hillsdale, MI  49242.  Requests should include your name, address, and telephone number.  Incomplete information will delay or possibly prevent our ability to honor your request.

§  Visit any County National Bank location.

If you have a joint account, a request by one owner will apply to the joint account.  The opt-out designation, if elected, applies to your current portfolio of accounts.  If you have already made a choice to limit marketing offers from County National Bank companies, you do not need to do so again.  For marketing purposes, the opt-out designation, if elected, means that we will not call you, we will not send you information by mail and we will not contact you by email. You may exercise your right to limit marketing offers at any time.  Your opt-out choice will apply until you tell us to change your choice.

SECURITY STATEMENT

CNB Online Banking, our Online Banking System brings together a combination of industry-approved security technologies to protect data for County National Bank and for you, our customer. It features password-controlled system entry.

Secure Access and Verifying User Authenticity

To begin a session with the Bank's server, the user must key in a Login ID and a Password. Our system uses a "3 strikes and you're out" lockout mechanism to deter unauthorized users from repeated login attempts. After three unsuccessful login attempts, the system locks the user out. To re-establish your authorization to use CNB Online Banking service, you must contact us to have your password reset or to obtain a new temporary password. SECURE DATA TRANSFER

Once a server session is established, the user and the server are in a secured environment the server has been certified as a 128-bit encryption.  

YOUR LOGIN ID AND PASSWORD

You should not keep your Login ID and Password information on or near your computer. Keep both in a secure area away from your computer to prevent any unauthorized access to your accounts. Never share your Login ID or Password with anyone. You will be required to change your password periodically.

E-MAIL

Regular, non-encrypted Internet e-mail may not be secure. If you communicate with us by clicking the e-mail button you will be generating a non-encrypted Internet e-mail message. For security reasons, we recommend that you use such e-mail only for generating inquires that do not involve sensitive or confidential information.
