County National Bank hosted Banksgiving at the main office in downtown Hillsdale on November 13, 2018. Hillsdale Chamber of Commerce, the Salvation Army and County National Bank worked closely to help make this a memorable and meaningful night for the community members of Hillsdale.
The Thanksgiving themed networking event was a success as County National Bank had an increase in attendance from the prior year. Guests enjoyed the food arrangement provided by Hillsdale’s own, Market House, and beverages as they mingled with other community leaders and business owners.
Speeches during the event were given by County National Bank’s CEO, Craig Connor, and President, John Waldron, along with Hillsdale Chamber of Commerce Chairman, Eric Potes and Captain Cassy Grey from the Salvation Army.
"I appreciated being able to share and say 'Thank you' to CNB and all those who came out to participate in this year's Banksgiving and enjoyed the opportunity to give an *air high five* to all those in attendance, to thank them for all they do!” said Captain Grey.
During the event, County National Bank offered many giveaways including University of Michigan Hockey tickets, Michigan State University Basketball tickets, a Michigan-themed gift basket, and a chance to win a $100 donation giveaway to a charity of choice. All one had to do in order to be eligible to enter the giveaway was bring a non-perishable food item to the event.
Additionally, CNB surprised Captain Cassy Grey with a check for $1,000 for the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army of Hillsdale does so much for the community and County National Bank is proud to support them in their endeavors to lift the local community up.
"I was blown away by the incredible gift of $1,000.00 towards our Kettle Campain at Banksgiving, this year's goal is $167,500.00! I was blown away as well by the incredible donation by Market House and all the individuals and businesses that brought in can goods!" Grey said.
Last year, the Salvation Army helped 197,477 people by providing meals, nights of shelter, personal hygiene items, medical assistance, clothing and gifts (during the holidays) to the less fortunate of Hillsdale County. The Salvation Army also recorded over 5,000 volunteer hours.
By the end of the night, County National Bank donated $1,200.00 back to the community. The recipients of the donation giveaway chose to donate $100 to CASA of Hillsdale County and $100 to the Greater Hillsdale Humane Society.
Hillsdale County is a great place to live and work and County National Bank is so thankful to be a part of such a caring and giving community. The bank is very appreciative of all of the guests that came to help us celebrate Banksgiving and wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season.
