Lenawee Cares and so does County National Bank

County National Bank donates $3,000 to the Lenawee Community Foundation to be the Lenawee Cares’ ‘Year of Caring’ Sponsor. The Year of Caring is an annual campaign that is put on by the Lenawee Cares organization.

Over the next 12 months, Lenawee Cares will match local businesses with non-profits to work directly on special projects. The goal of this campaign is to encourage impactful relationships between the businesses and non-profits and help the citizens of Lenawee County meet their basic needs.

Lenawee Cares, established in 2016, is an advisory board of Lenawee Community Foundation. The purpose is to address the health and human service programs in Lenawee County with an emphasis in meeting basic needs. The organization stands behind the idea that until the basic needs of people are met, it is impossible to address other community issues. While increasing efficiency, strengthening service to local residents and building a better community, Lenawee Cares is growing philanthropy for Lenawee’s future.

“County National Bank is a great example of a corporate partner.  Aside from financial giving, CNB has a reputation for being a group of people that gets things done to make the community a better place,” said Dave Herriman, Lenawee Cares Co-Chair.

Lenawee Cares gives 100% of the donations they receive back into the community. Last year, Lenawee Cares raised over $540,000 and allowed the team to help organizations in the area.  They assist local non-profits and basic need organizations. Some of these include Adrian Community Preschool, Goodwill Industries, Habitat for Humanity and more.

Lenawee Cares inspires community members to invest in their community. Community members can invest by giving donations and also giving their time to local non-profits that need volunteers.

Christopher Phillips, Senior Vice President – Trust Officer at County National Bank, has been a part of the organization since its beginnings in 2016. He is looking forward to the ‘Year of Caring’ campaign because it allows him to work with passionate people that truly care about the well-being of Lenawee.

“It is exciting to see the amount of work and dedication that the volunteers at Lenawee Cares put into the campaign,” says Christopher Phillips, Lenawee Cares Co-Chair.

County National Bank is happy to support this charitable cause. The kick-off of the Year of Caring will be on December 7, 2018 at the Madison High School Performing Arts Center.
